Sewerage revamp to enable effluent recycling

Deniliquin council states a $three million update of its sewerage therapy plant should move forward this calendar year, in spite of plans for a key overhaul in a decade's time. Technical solutions director Mark Dalzell claims discharges are presently created by way of open channels, which can contaminate the Edward River.
The renovation performs will enable effluent to be recycled and the drinking water will be marketed to a regional irrigator.
Mr Dalzell says the perform demands to be done now, as council is not assembly environmental suggestions.
